Kootenai Creek Canyon

Join trip leader Chelsea Klocke for a birding hike along Kootenai Creek. We will meet at the Kootenai Creek trailhead at the end of N Kootenai Creek Rd, just north of Stevensville, at 8am (coordinates: 46.537942, -114.150694). A vault toilet is available at the trailhead. Expect to hike out and back, up to 5 miles round trip, with an elevation gain of about 560ft. Species you may expect to see or hear include White-throated swift, Swainson’s thrush, Pacific wren, and Steller’s jay. Please note that cell service is spotty to non-existent on the trail. Bring snacks and dress in layers.
